About the event

We will meet in the Visitor Centre car park at 11am, with an introductory talk at 11.15. After that we will walk at a gentle pace to the pastures, where staff will use butterfly nets to gently catch butterflies.  Please bring your own picnic lunch and rug for eating outside at 1pm, after which we will continue to watch and identify butterflies till around 3pm.

Please note that as butterflies only fly in warm, sunny weather, this event is dependent upon suitable weather.

The walk is gentle but uneven with some slopes, so please wear sturdy boots. Facilities are 10mins walk from the pasture, so please bring your own drinks with your lunch.  Sun hats recommended, although there is shade at the edge of the pasture.

Spaces will be limited to 10 people, please book in advance to guarantee a spot. Some spaces may be available on the day if all spots have not been filled, please contact in advance to register interest if this is the case.

This event is free, but donations are always welcome!
