About the event

As part of The Wildlife Trust’s Big Wild Weekend 2021 (18-20th June), join us for a Forest Folklore Day at Gilfach Nature Reserve, near Rhayader.

We will be running exciting folklore and woodland themed crafts activities at the farmyard. We are planning to decorate a wooden fairy door, make woodland creatures, fairytale writing, and colouring.

Then join us for an evening folklore story (18:30 -19:00), with no booking required! Hot drinks will be available during the story telling session.

Throughout the day, take time to explore the nearby Oak Wood and encounter all sorts of woodland folk! Can you find all of the hidden doors? Use your imagination… who lives behind each door?
