About the event

Join Dan, the Wilder Lugg Project officer, to survey for and record bats on Pentwyn farm. You will learn, using provided bat detectors, how to identify different species of bat, as well as details of their ecology. Please note that while it is almost certain we will encounter bats, it cannot be guaranteed - though last summer's survey provided numerous different species on the same route. The survey will be postponed if the weather conditions are not suitable (high winds, heavy rain).

The walk will start around 9.15pm (30 mins before sunset) and will last approximately an hour and a half. The terrain is steep so please come prepared with appropriate clothing, footwear and something to drink. There will be livestock present on the farm and a full risk assessment will be made available on the day.

As these surveys happen at dusk / dark - please bring a headtorch or torch if you have one - if it has a red setting, even better. All ages welcome.
