Campaigns Trainee

Location: Warwick House, High Street, Llandrindod Wells, LD1 6AG, Radnorshire

Conservation is a competitive field, and it can be hard to show that you have the experience needed to land your first job. If you have a real desire to work in this rewarding and satisfying field, but need to boost your skills and experience, a volunteer trainee position with us may be the perfect role for you.

You’ll have to be able to commit time to be our Campaigns Trainees and gain the upper hand when you come to apply for jobs. To get the most out of this opportunity, you’ll need to be available for two days/week over a period of six months. You don’t need to be especially knowledgeable, although previous relevant knowledge on campaigns and advocacy will help you know more about what’s involved. You should have a keen interest in UK wildlife conservation and campaigns, feel comfortable in teams and be willing to work with the trainees and volunteers.

You will benefit from a substantial amount of training and get plenty of active experience, learning from our experienced, professional employees and volunteers. You’ll also have access to first aid certification and have the opportunity to develop an essential network of contacts in the sector.

We would like to recruit an enthusiastic person to join our team to develop, implement and evaluate campaigns and engagement strategies that achieve positive change within Radnorshire and Wales.  

If you have a keen interest in campaigning and advocacy and would like a career in this area, this could be the perfect way to gain experience.

Our fantastic team works across Radnorshire, you will get the chance to design, run events, liaise with stakeholders and attending meetings, events, and advocacy platforms on behalf of the trust. There will be opportunities to gain experience from collaborative working with other Wildlife Trusts, create campaigns, support other national campaigns, and make them relevant to Radnorshire, as well as, wildlife surveying, working with volunteers, practical work, and tool use.

The days we ask you to be available will be discussed during the interview. Work times usually are 9:00am – 5:00pm. Occasional weekend working will also be required during summer months (with time off in lieu given during the week).
