Inspiring People

because people make a difference

People make a difference to wildlife and wildlife makes a difference to people

It may seem obvious but we believe that many species can only survive if enough people care about wildlife and take action, whether by volunteering, by increasing their understanding of the natural world or by supporting our work and that of other conservation organisations.

There is evidence to show that by regularly experiencing nature, people can live happier, healthier lives. So part of our work is to let people of all ages be inspired by our wealth of wildlife.

The Gilfach Nature Reserve and Discovery Centre is a key environmental education resource of the Wildlife Trust.

Many groups visit throughout the year, from walkers on the Wye Valley Walk who just pass through, to holiday makers who stay for a picnic or take part in a family fun event, to educational theme days and environmental field trips.
