Established in 2006 Radnorshire Wildlife Services is the consultancy arm of the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust. We offer a full range of ecological and landscape consultancy services in mid Wales, the Marches and beyond. We have rapidly built up a wide and challenging portfolio of projects for private and public clients. Through our staff, the staff of the Trust and through our associates we have access to a wide range of expertise. We can draw on local experience and knowledge to offer a cost-effective service of interest to land owners, other consultants, local authorities and government agencies. All profits are used to benefit wildlife conservation in this beautiful part of Wales.

Consultancy Staff
Chris Ledbury BA MSc CMLI MIEEM is the Consultancy Development Manager. He has lived and worked in Wales since 1973 and has over 35 years experience of countryside management. Chris was Head of Countryside for the Brecon Beacons National Park before taking up his current position in 2006. He has expertise in both natural and cultural heritage conservation. He is an ornithologist and keen general naturalist.
Rebecca Bohane BSc MSc MIEEM is our Project Ecologist. Rebecca is a protected species specialist with licences covering bats, dormouse, barn owl, white clawed crayfish and great crested newt. Rebecca also has extensive experience of surveys for badger, water vole, otter and reptiles, NVC, hedgerow and aquatic macrophyte surveys, and extended Phase I surveys. She has worked on Environmental Impact Assessments and on BREEAM assessment.
Our regular sub-contract staff include:
Julia Williams, Fiona Luckhurst and James Bisset who are all very experienced and fully licensed bat workers. They assist with site and activity surveys and provide watching briefs during site development.
Nigel Isaksson is a licensed dormouse worker and a trainee bat worker.
Catherine Etchell MA, Dip LA, CMLI, is our associate landscape architect. She has worked in Wales since 1994 for a wide range of private and public clients.
Ray Woods is a nationally respected botanist and author of The Flora of Radnorshire. Ray provides expertise especially where lower plant surveys are needed.
Phil Ward of Ward Ecology is an experienced general ecologist who has assisted RWS on several occasions with surveys of aquatic plants and invertebrates.
As a member of the AWTC we are also able to draw on the expertise of 26 other Wildlife Trust Consultancies throughout the UK.
